Memorial Day

CorneliusMemorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May. It was formerly known as Decoration Day and commemorates all men and women who have died in military service for the United States. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials on Memorial Day, which is the unofficial start of the summer season. It is traditionally known for its celebration of those we have lost, but during recent years it has also been a time for us to recognize the commitment and sacrifice made by those who have courageously served our country.
