In 2018, Workforce Solutions partnered with Combined Arms to deliver comprehensive career services to veterans. This collaboration makes sense because the Houston Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) has one of the fastest growing veteran populations in the country. According to the 2017 United States Census, there are an estimated 268,340 veterans in the Houston MSA, and more continue to relocate here due to the low cost of living and plethora of job opportunities. Hence, the Workforce Solutions and Combined Arms collaboration was a logical decision to address the potential influx of veteran job seekers. Honoring our Service Men and Women
Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May. It was formerly known as Decoration Day and commemorates all men and women who have died in military service for the United States. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials on Memorial Day, which is the unofficial start of the summer season. It is traditionally known for its celebration of those we have lost, but during recent years it has also been a time for us to recognize the commitment and sacrifice made by those who have courageously served our country.
