During my employment with Workforce Solutions, I have participated in several successful business partnerships within our community. Today I am shining the spotlight on one partnership with the Houston Community College (HCC)/AARP Foundation’s Back to Work 50+ Initiative (BTW50+). Our partnership began on February 19, 2019. Fellow Regional Team member, Carolyn Kennard and I were chosen to facilitate the Coaching Program along with our Team Lead, Dana Sturdevant. Affects of COVID-19

Carolyn KinardWhen Covid-19 first was announced earlier this year, many of us had no idea how it would impact our lives in the future months, including what age groups would be at risk. As time passed it was discovered that the elderly faced a significant risk of developing the illness, particularly those with underlying health conditions. The trend changed when individuals did not mask themselves and younger adults were being affected as a result; however, older adults remained a higher risk including baby boomers. What is BTW50+?

FriedaThrough a national community partnership launched by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) in partnership with Houston Community College (HCC) and Workforce Solutions, the Back to Work 50+, coaching and training seminars premiered at the Northeast HCC Campus on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.
