Happy New Year 2020

David SpearsAs 2019 comes to an end this week and another year…even decade begins, let’s take a look back at a few blogs posted that will help us have an even better than 2020 focus in the coming New Year (yes, pun intended). Workforce Solutions knows what tools you need to get a job, keep a job or find a better job. In doing so, the Regional Team helps with that effort through BlogForce as another resource among many.

To begin with, there is one important question we should be prepared to answer, and the answer might very well help guide our career plan. Check out Thelisa Lavergne’s blog: The Most Important Question – Tell me About Yourself.

Among job search tools we use such as a résumé or networking, one para-tool we often forget is having a positive attitude. A positive attitude can help us move forward in our career planning as well as life in general. Cornelius Booker describes that in The Power of a Positive Attitude.

Besides having a positive attitude alongside your other job search tools, there are other ways we can attract attention. Carolyn Kennard gives advice on how to do just that in her blog How to Stand Out in a Crowd.

Are you a skilled worker? Would you like to know how you can be a part of the skilled workforce? Velta Worley provides information and how you can move into the skilled workforce in her blog Are You Part of Skilled Workforce?

If you ever think about your age as a factor in finding employment (I know I do), Frieda Carmouche offers some good information and resources in her blog What is BTW50+?

Workforce Solutions helps everyone regardless of ability. Some folks have the ability to do things differently and David Spears offers some insight in his blog The Ability to do Things Differently. The focus is on ability.

Job search in 2020 is different in a lot of ways than a few years ago. Fortunately we have access to free information online that helps us to learn labor market information without leaving the house and going to the library. Josie Toth tells us about one tool in her blog Explore Research Careers Online Without Ads.

And finally, Omar Martinez reminds us of a great impact that we can have on others throughout the New Year in his blog The Act of Giving (and Receiving).

Workforce Solutions wishes you and yours a Happy New Year 2020!
