Celebrating the beautiful treasure of a mother
Every year, the world sets aside a day of observance to honor the remarkable contributions of women around the world who provide unconditional love and support to their children. According to Wikipedia, Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914 as a special tribute to recognize the unending sacrifices of mothers around the country.
Mothers are a beautiful GIFT to children around the world. No words can adequately describe what her position is in the lives of her children. There is no real measure of her priceless presence. The very definition of a mother is selfless service to another. A mother’s unconditional love, tender care and unwavering loyalty are the foundation for a child’s growth and development in life. She is the heartbeat of her home, echoing concern in every action taken or decision made. Mothers wear many hats and often understand what a child may be unable to communicate. Her love is far-reaching and perceives no impossibilities. It is a mother’s influence that safely rests in the hearts and minds of her children. She is viewed as the biggest cheerleader that a child will ever know. Mothers are often gentle as a dove and brave as a lioness, doing everything within her power to protect her children.
So let us not be afraid to harness and build upon the foundation that our mother has created for us during our formative years so that we can begin, improve or even change our career. Take for instance high-skill, high-growth career opportunities. Much like our mother desired to have an even more successful career than perhaps she had, Workforce Solutions is in the same business: helping others succeed. Even if we’re not quite sure how we can take the foundation our mother began in us and incorporate that into a successful career, Workforce Solutions has tools like The Princeton Review Career Quiz or the Keirsey Temperament Sorter to help us find out. And there’s even more career exploration resources that Mom would want us to know about in order to be successful!
May we cherish, honor and recognize our Mothers as the precious gifts they are and celebrate other women who work tirelessly to care for their children each and every day. To all the mothers out there whether you are a past, present, or soon to be Moms; may your day be filled with love, adding joy and laughter to all.
Abraham Lincoln said it best: “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe it to my angel mother.”
