Spring into Action

David SpearsSpring is my favorite time of year because there are signs all around that illustrate new beginnings. The phrase “new beginnings” sounds redundant, but really is not because life often gives us the opportunity to begin again from where we were previously. Flowers that died over the winter begin blooming again, grass that turned brown is turning green again, leaves that fell last autumn are showing up again, and the Houston Astros will win the World Series…again!

For some of you who are currently receiving social security disability insurance (SSDI), there are programs available through the Ticket to Work program that can help you get back to where you once were with regard to your career. For some, “life happened” which kept us from having the ability to work full time and SSDI has provided financial and medical support; which is the intended purpose of the program. But after some time, perhaps you’ve thought about going back to work full or part time; or even trying it out for a period of time to see if working could be more beneficial to you. The Ticket to Work program offers help…and it’s free and voluntary.

Rather than pulling the carpet out from under you, the Ticket to Work programs helps transition you back into the workforce. Many success stories talk about how members of the program have found more financial independence and fulfillment through meeting new people and learning new skills.

If you think the Ticket to Work program might be right for you, you can visit their website for more information on how it works and what your next step might be. And speaking of next steps, Workforce Solutions can certainly work alongside to help you find a job, keep a job, or get a BETTER job!
