Employers have a great opportunity to put Texans back to work and receive some financial relief. The Texas Back to Work subsidy offers employers up to $2000 for hiring an eligible candidate.
This incentive program is designed to encourage employers to hire unemployed workers and encourage employee retention. Employers have the ability to select prescreened qualified individuals, hire prospective employees at their discretion, save on labor costs, and train employees to meet their individual business needs.
How do employers qualify? Any employer who fills a 30 hour per week permanent position that pays at least minimum wage with a Texas Back to Work candidate qualifies for the subsidy.
Who is a Texas Back to Work candidate? A Texas Back to Work candidate is an individual who has been identified by the Texas Workforce Commission as eligible based on their unemployment insurance benefits status. These candidates are identified in the WorkInTexas.com database.
